2026 FIRST Robotics Competition KitBot
The revision demo uses the official 2026 KitBot CAD published by FIRST, with component designs from its suppliers. Original STEP assembly ยท Official part drawings
We tessellated and simplified the display meshes for the web, omitting small fasteners, hardware, and fine edges. The sequence hides and restores the two KB-26001 side plates, opens one as a part, and adds three through-holes before resizing them and updating both instances. The holes are actual solid-model edits; existing bearing bores, mounting holes, and the outer profiles are retained.
This is an authored workflow, not a live agent session or native feature and mate history recovered from STEP. The illustrative edits are not a structural analysis, manufacturing approval, or statement of competition legality. FIRST and its suppliers retain their rights; no open-source license or endorsement of Stratton is implied.
Universal Manipulation Interface
The UMI gripper in our assembly demo comes from the original UMI Hardware Guide and its Onshape visualization assembly.
UMI is the work of Cheng Chi, Zhenjia Xu, Chuer Pan, Eric Cousineau, Benjamin Burchfiel, Siyuan Feng, Russ Tedrake, and Shuran Song. Read about the project โ
We tessellated the STEP geometry for the web, rotated it for display, and created a variant with the two soft fingers suppressed. The completed view restores the original fingers in their original placements. The sequence is an authored product demonstration, not a live agent run; the displayed mating proposal is not constraint history imported from STEP.
Original design credits and the source project's MIT notice are retained below. The UMI project credits John Mulac's Push/Pull Gripper for the core mechanism and Alex Alspach at TRI for the soft-finger design. Use of this model does not imply endorsement of Stratton.
